As of March 2025, several road, sidewalk, and utility construction projects are ongoing across Santa Fe. These updates help improve local infrastructure such as roads, drainage, sidewalks, traffic signals, and water lines. Residents are encouraged to follow detours, reduce speed in work zones, and stay alert near active construction sites.

Zia Rd & St. Francis—Lane Changes & Sidewalk Updates

Contractor: SF Brown Inc
Starting March 6, 2025, traffic on Zia Rd will shift to its proper sides—eastbound on the south and westbound on the north between Vela St. and Galisteo.
Left turns from Zia to southbound Galisteo and from Galisteo to westbound Zia will remain prohibited.
The north sidewalk from Candelero to St. Francis will reopen, while the south sidewalk from Vela to St. Francis will close.
Speed reduced to 25 mph between St. Francis and Brilliante.
Important: Do not stop on train tracks!

St. Michael’s & Llano Intersection – Signal and Pedestrian Upgrades

Contractor: JDR & Associates
Work continues on traffic signals and pedestrian crossings.
During the week of March 3, the east sidewalk near Milagro Middle School will be closed. Use the west side for walking and crossing.

Rancho Siringo Rd/Dr & Yucca St – Water Line Installation

Contractor: Sub Surface Contracting
Work ongoing until March 2025. Road closed to general traffic, but residents have access.
From March 3–7, work will expand into Yucca St to connect water lines. Expect lane shifts and flaggers.

Ricardo Rd to S El Rancho Rd – Drainage Channel Cleaning

Contractor: Franco’s Trees and Landscaping
Work started February 20 and will take 2 weeks.
Debris will be loaded from Ricardo Rd.
Minimal traffic disruption, traffic control in place.

Arroyo Los Chamisos North Fork – Bank Repair & Erosion Control

Contractor: EMCO
Started November 2024, ongoing for several months.
Entry from Avenida de las Campanas; work done 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. during school hours.
Minimal traffic impact.

Arroyo de Los Pinos Behind Herb Martinez Park – Equipment Staging

Contractor: EMCO
Used as a staging area for ongoing work.
Entry from Santa Clara Drive and Alamosa Drive.
Minimal traffic impact.

Agua Fria & South Meadows – Major Intersection Upgrades

Contractor: EMCO
Intersection improvements ongoing until May 2025.
Includes turn bays, new traffic lights, sidewalks, and ADA ramps.
Traffic delays expected; alternate routes suggested.

206 McKenzie St – Road Closure for Construction

Contractor: True North Builders LLC
Due to limited space, the road is closed through June 2025.
Project includes full utility and curb work.

Guadalupe St. (Alameda to Paseo De Peralta) – Full Reconstruction

Contractor: GM Emulsion
Currently in Phase 6 on the east side of Guadalupe St.
Two travel lanes open on the west side.

Started Feb 3, 2025.
Includes curbs, ramps, and sidewalk updates for spring paving.

Ditch and drainage cleaning underway since Feb 11.
